Reversible End Grain Carver With Groove

This cutting board is wonderful. The End Grain design is so much better for your cutlery than the typical Edge Grain designs. The difference is similiar to a dartboard made of bristle versus cork. With the bristle boards, the dart just moves the bristles to either side and doesn't leave a hole. With cork, there are holes everywhere. In a typical cutting board, you will leave knife cuts all over the board. However, with an End Grain cutting board, the wood fibers restore themselves much more readily than with the other types. After over a month I still don't have any observable cuts or scratches on my board. If you get any End Grain board, you MUST use a quality cutting board oil. I purchased a 3 pack from Catskill Craftsman. I used the first bottle up almost within the first week. The oil keeps out water which is any cutting board's enemy.The quality of this boad was very good. The only thing keeping it from getting an excellent rating was that the edges could have been smoother and the juice groove was rough as if it hadn't been properly sanded. It doesn't detract from the form or function, but I worry that the rougher groove may increase the likelihood of liquid absorbtion, thus resulting in the board warping or cracking.
