What Makes an Outdoor TV Different?
Outdoor TVs are designed & engineered to be safer – with a better viewing experience – than their indoor counterparts. They have a larger price tag than indoor ones but you are paying for the TV to work in bright sunlight and extreme weather such as cold and hot temperatures, rain or snow.
- First and foremost, they are rated for outdoor use and can withstand the elements. They are water resistant and also fight off things like wind, water, bugs, and humidity.
- The displays have extra-bright panels which reduce glare, resulting in a better picture under natural outdoor lighting conditions. No shady spot? No problem, try to place your outdoor TV so that it is facing north so the sun will be behind it.
- Exposing an indoor TV to the outside environment will likely void the warranty whereas a TV made specifically for outdoor use will be covered by a full warranty (varies from manufacturer to manufacturer).
